KUALA LUMPUR: QNET, the flagship business of the QI Group which has its operational headquarters in Malaysia, marks an exciting beginning for 2022 with its inaugural Health and Wellness Expo recently.

The two-day expo saw QNET introducing its portfolio of health and wellness products to over 200 attendees.

"The expo aimed to acquaint QNET's Malaysian audience with its products and business model that have changed the lives of millions of people around the globe," it said.

QNET regional general manger Pushpalatha Balan said since its inception, the company had strived to bring innovative, high quality products that enable people to take charge of their lives – to live healthier, improve their wellbeing, and leave a positive impact on their communities.

"The expo allowed us to build on this sentiment and share this experience with our Malaysian distributors and customers," she said.

Pushpalatha said the focus on health and wellness products was crucial, stressing that many companies with health and wellness products experienced a significant boost in their sales, thanks to increased awareness and personal health concerns brought on by the pandemic.

"These products took the lead in global direct sales at US$64.8 billion. In Malaysia, wellness products topped the product category sales at a whopping 45 per cent. Hence, continuous innovation and improvement are critical in differentiating us from other direct selling companies in Malaysia.

"We realised early on that we had to step up our game in terms of product research and development (R&D) to cater to the growing demand for high-quality health and wellness products. Thus, we've strengthened our presence in the health and wellness area by establishing a Scientific Advisory Board," she said.

QNET said direct selling sector was one of the few industries that had recorded positive growth during the recent economic fallout that derailed many businesses and industries by addressing unemployment issues worldwide.

In the World Federation of Direct Selling's latest sales report, Malaysia saw one of the highest growth rates in year-over-year direct sales at 15.8 per cent between 2019 and 2020, with over four million active distributors in the country.
